Your typically unacceptable puppy behavioral problems include destructive nature, doing everything in sight, biting like there is no tomorrow, nipping at everything that moves, barking excessively, and unwarranted jumping. Most owners find it exceptionally difficult to remove these traits from their puppies, but puppy behavior problems can be easily rectified by basic common sense and good training techniques.

There are a wide variety of chewing toys available on the market today, which will keep your puppy occupied for hours upon end. Specifically the chewing toys which allow you to put food treats inside, will also occupy your puppy in the times when you must leave them unattended for any period of time. Issuing a stern command, and physically picking up and putting the puppy in an acceptable area, will quickly retrain its thinking.
Jumping is another one of the common behavioral problems that novice owners normally get wrong. Your puppy will jump solely because they have been rewarded in some way in the past for doing so. While it may not have been the owner themselves, it is more than likely guests who have bent down to pat the puppy, causing it to jump up and greet the guest at the same level as the guest previously greeted them.
As humans are taller, the puppy must jump to reach the higher position, which is why this is the most common of the problems, and yet the easiest to fix. Rewarding the behavior you desire, and chastise the behaviors you do not desire, will quickly resolve these problems.
Reinforcement and consistency are the two primary factors to resolving most puppy behavioral problems quickly. Remember that the secret is to reward the acceptable behavior, while ignoring the unacceptable behavior. Canines are very smart individuals, regardless of their breed or age, and the quickest answer to any puppy behavioral problems will always be through rewarding the desired behavior.
