English Bulldogs are one of the oldest purebred dog breeds in modern culture. They have been strong symbol The United Kingdom since the 1500s and they are the official mascot of the United States Marine Corps. Many Marine Corp bases have their own English Bulldog mascot right on base. Thirty-nine American universities also use the Bulldog as their mascot.
English Bulldogs are known to be a bit bullheaded, and are certainly courageous and stoic. Consequently, Bulldog puppy training could be a laborious task if your puppy is particularly adventurous or stubborn. Learning the correct way to train a Bulldog puppy can help you avoid the common pitfalls and mistakes, however, and English Bulldogs can be a fantastic, loving and loyal pet.
Choosing an English Bulldog Puppy
Prior to your choosing a Bulldog puppy, it’s important to take into account just how many issues this breed may have. Bulldogs are susceptible to a variety of medical problems, beginning at birth with a high mortality rate. Opt for a puppy which is a minimum of two months old, warm and friendly, and never aggressive. Ensure it is healthy by taking it to a vet because there are a variety of puppy medical problems which a bulldog puppy could have. They are especially prone to health conditions involving their ears and nose.
Bulldog puppy training ought to begin when you bring the puppy home, as long as the puppy is old enough and was already properly socialized. If your puppy isn’t 10 weeks old or older, or if it hasn’t been properly socialized with other dogs and people, it’s very important to start with socialization before doing other puppy training.
Bulldog Puppy Training
When your puppy is old enough, begin training with standard potty training. Bulldog puppy training can transition into obedience training when they are approximately 3 to 6 months old. You will likely want to begin with basic commands such as “sit,” “no,” and “come,” or “come here.”
Spending the time to for proper puppy training right away can help prevent a variety of issues later on including negative behaviors such as biting and being aggressive. It also helps to keep your Bulldog safe as they will learn to be obedience and well-behaved through your Bulldog puppy training and later obedience training
